Data center projects advance quickly, often while site layouts, equipment selections, and operating plans are still changing. Colorado Analytics helps project teams evaluate acoustical risk early, update the analysis as the design develops, and make practical decisions without slowing the project.
Our work considers the complete facility, including building ventilation, air-cooled chillers, cooling towers, pumps, transformers, switchgear, and other mechanical and electrical equipment. We also evaluate on-site power production such as reciprocating engines, turbines, and emergency or standby generators. Normal operation, maintenance, testing, and emergency operating scenarios can be analyzed separately so that the results reflect how the facility will actually be used.
Predictive Noise Modeling
We develop site-wide environmental noise models to predict sound levels at property lines, nearby homes, and other noise-sensitive locations. Modeling can begin with conceptual equipment data and become more detailed as vendor selections and site plans are finalized. This allows the project team to compare sites, building orientations, equipment locations, operating scenarios, and future development phases before major decisions become expensive to change.
Model results can support land-use reviews, permit applications, community discussions, and design coordination. Clear sound-level maps and receiver-specific results help teams understand which sources control the outcome and where mitigation will provide the greatest benefit.
Measurement and Validation
Field measurement provides the information needed to establish existing ambient conditions, characterize operating equipment, and confirm performance after construction. Depending on the project, our services may include baseline community noise monitoring, sound-power measurements, tonal analysis, property-line surveys, commissioning measurements, and investigation of complaints or unexpected operating conditions.
Measurement results can also be used to refine a model, verify vendor data, and document compliance with applicable project criteria.

The most efficient noise controls are usually developed before equipment is purchased and site geometry is fixed. We work with owners, developers, design teams, equipment vendors, and contractors to identify measures that fit the project schedule and operating requirements. Recommendations may include:
